Text Box:  New Act Night REVIEW Latest 7 May 23rd 2008 14 new acts set their first tentative steps onto the stage of the Komedia and knocked the socks off all who came to ’support’ them. Far exceeding the usual expectations of a New Act Night, these were the graduates of the Jill Edwards Beginners Comedy Workshop, which meant it was easy to forget the inexperience and jitters they must all have been feeling. With a brilliant freshness that comes from material not hunched over and overworked by a hackneyed and desperate comic, their individuality shone through and promised much to come from each and every one in the future. Special highlights came from Rich Heap, Katie Boston and Richard Sawyer, but a hugely impressed well done to all. Komedia, 22 May Victoria Nangle
